| Welcome to the home of WashingtonSQUARED, one of
VATUSA's largest cross-country events ever!
The event will take place Saturday, September 27, 2003 and will resemble a grand parade as airplanes fill the skies and flight levels from Washington DC's Dulles International to Seattle, Washington's Seattle-Tacoma International. Live! Coast to CoastThis 2,003 nautical mile, approximately 5 hour journey will take aircraft of all shapes and sizes from our nation's capital, across the Midwest, over the Rockies, and into the state of Washington for a grand journey across country with ATC provided from start to finish. This event is similar to the "Cross the Pond" and "Cross the Pacific" events, except the scenery over the U.S. is not quite as boring and it's only half the distance! Along the way you'll receive service from 9 VATUSA centers, lighting up most of the U.S. for service. Who Is Attending?This event is a collaborative effort of Seattle and Washington D.C. ARTCCs, with tremendous help from 7 enroute centers along the way. It has been in the works for several months planning the perfect day to get most of VATUSA logged-in for a massive cross-country event. The event is open to all participants all around the world to come experience the best of the East Coast to the best of the West Coast and all points between. When Do We Leave?Planes begin departing from IAD Saturday afternoon at Noon eastern and will begin to arrive at SEA around 2pm pacific. There is also a route for those of you flying the "short-version" at 4x. Some things you can expect to see soon on this site...
