Goal: To certify a prospective visitors for controlling (up to the level they are rated for) in ZSE.
Visiting controllers who have submitted a formal request will be required to meet with a ZSE Instructor for certification before signing onto any position within ZSE ARTCC.
The same controlling/rating standards outlined above will be applied for visiting controllers, with the exception of hourly requirements and training regimens.
ZSE has the right to certify a visiting controller for positions under their normal rating certifications. For example, if the ZSE Instructor evaluating a visitor deems them to be qualified for local control (Tower, Ground and Delivery) operations, but not TRACON (Approach) operations, they may only certify them for local control within ZSE.
ZSE will not provide any additional training to visiting controllers, as it would be a violation of VATUSA policy. Training for positions is only available through the controllers home ARTCC. The only training ZSE may provide is for specific ZSE policies and procedures for the ARTCC airspace.
ZSE has the right to deny a visiting controllers request for visiting status, or remove them or restrict them in positions within ZSE at any time.
